Easter 2020 - Quarantined

Sunday, April 12, 2020

This has been the most uneventful Easter I can ever remember, yet, if only for that reason, it will probably shape up to be one of the memorable.

It snowed and I shoveled. There were no church services to go to and the grocery stores, some of the few places left open due to the shelter-in-place, were closed as well. I worked, which is something I’ve never done on Easter, for quite a few hours.
Tonight we watched Easter Parade with Judy Garland and Fred Astaire. It’s one of my favorite holiday movies and always brings a big smile to my face which is something I really needed today. Having a daiquiri helped a little bit too.

Checked in on Mom today with a phone call. We talked about how glad we are that the timing of the events due to this virus began for us in mid-March rather than in January. That would have made winter unbearably long. At least now, despite the winter weather of today, we’ve been experiencing some signs of spring and the sense of hopefulness that brings.

Easter 2019 - Downtown Minneapolis

Nice service at Gethsemane this morning. Dale had to hang around church for a bit so I took a nice walk through downtown.

Easter 2018 - Arizona

Dale and I met Brenda and Irv and John and Dianne in Phoenix. We shared an Air B&B. Easter dinner was ham, scalloped potatoes, and more!
